Chiropractic Care

Here at the Clinic, we specialize in restoring functions to your injuries, whether it be an old injury or a new injury. We not only take care of the spinal injuries, but also every joint in your body. Our goal is to ensure that your spine and the rest of your body are working harmoniously. To do so, we will help you develop a proper rehabilitation plan for you.
It is our number one goal to have you back on the field or health as quickly as possible. Every time that you enter our doors, we will evaluate
how the last session went so that every appointment is a step in the right direction. Whether your injuries are sports related or not, we have an
answer to your injury.

Corrective Exercises

At Dr Chris Chiropractic Care, we teach our patients how to perform special "blueprint" exercises which can help strengthen and correct the irregularities in their body which may be causing pain. Many of these corrective exercises can actually be performed in the comfort of your own home to help improve the effectiveness of your chiropractic care and spinal correction plan. In addition to skeletal misalignment, you may be experiencing pain that is caused by muscles and connective tissues which are out of their proper place. Other types of pain such as back pain, neck pain, and headaches are caused by muscles and tissues that are being used improperly, causing injuries over time. In each case, targeted corrective exercises and stretches from our experienced chiropractor will help you feel good while also helping your body achieve balance and health.

Lifestyle Advice

Many of our patients come to see our chiropractor to address a specific pain symptom such as back pain, neck pain or headaches. While our chiropractor will address each patient's specific condition with chiropractic care, we often find it helpful to "coach" our patients towards achieving a healthier lifestyle. For example, there may be certain activities that you should avoid or do differently to prevent yourself from unintentionally aggravating your particular health challenges. The goal of including lifestyle advice with a chiropractic care plan is to help each and every patient achieve the fulfilling and happy lifestyle they deserve, one that is full of the activities that are enjoyed most. We recognize that every single one of our patients is a whole person, and we use our expertise to help them reach total health and wellness.

Nutritional Counseling

What does nutrition have to do with chiropractic care? The goal of chiropractic care is to help patients achieve total health and balance with their body, and as part of that goal we provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices. Nutritional counseling by our experienced chiropractic health professionals can assist a patient on their return to optimal health. Do you know which supplements and vitamins are good for you? Do you know how these supplements and vitamins interact with one another? At our Sherman Oaks chiropractic clinic, we can provide each patient with a structured nutritional program that is based on their individual needs.

Spinal & Postural Screenings

There is a saying that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Your spinal health is no exception. Posture and spinal screenings by a trained and experienced chiropractor such as Chris Tsai can help reveal important health information, unlocking the door to improved health and well-being. In order to help the Sherman Oaks community, we provide screenings at area malls, community events, health fairs and places of employment. Contact us today at 818-538-4580 to arrange a screening at your event or workplace.

Sports Injury and Rehabilitation

Sports participation and recreation is a major part of today’s society which results in many weekend warriors and frequent sports related injuries. Dr Chris specializes in sports injuries and rehabilitation by obtaining his certification in sports chiropractic as well as certification in Rocktape. Dr Chris Chiropractic Care uses multiple researched based instruments including Graston and Bian Stones to help recover from sports injuries. He currently serves as the team chiropractor for both development football and soccer teams.

Chronic pain can also lead to a decrease in sports performance and poor biomechanics which leads to further injuries of other places, here at the
Clinic, we evaluate and rehab not only the injured region, but the root of poor biomechanics of the regions of the body.
Sports Chiropractic is a sub-specialty of chiropractic. As a sports chiropractor, Dr. Tsai has extensive experience in diagnosis of concussions, on-field emergency medicine, and treatment of spinal & extremity conditions.

Cranial Facial Release

Cranial facial release is an advanced endo-nasal “Balloon Assisted” cranial adjusting technique that has been used quite successfully in the treatment of various neurological and structural disorders. It is a specialized technique that was derived from an earlier form of endo-nasal cranial adjusting called Bilateral Nasal Specific (BNS) pioneered by chiropractor Richard Stober in the 1960's and 70's. The objective of CFR technique is to unlock cranial fixations and induce mobility in the cranial system - primarily targeting the sphenoid bone, with the purpose of facilitating normal cranial respiratory motion and normal cranial function.

To understand how CFR works, it is important to realize that the skull is NOT one solid bone. It is made up of 22 individual bones that actually move every time you breathe, but cranial fixations are a common occurrence and often times the root cause of many chronic neurological conditions and recurrent pain syndromes that don’t respond to conventional chiropractic adjusting procedures. Frequent causes of cranial aberrations and sutural fixations are things like head trauma, birth trauma, uneven bite force (TMJ disorder), bruxism, etc.. Relieving Dural Torque is a primary objective of CFR technique, as it plays an intricate role in cranial function and more importantly brain function. This concept was supported by research performed in Russia in the late 1930’s by Dr. A.D. Speransky, M.D., Director of Research at the All Union Institute of Experimental Medicine and author of the book, A Basis for the Theory of Medicine. Through his research, Dr. Speransky determined that “slight mechanical torque on the control centers of the brain, and especially the pituitary-hypothalmus complex caused destructive pathologies throughout the entire body”. This was a 10-year study during which Dr. Speransky was able to identify over 80 specific disorders that he could directly attribute to this “mechanical torque” phenomena. The majority of people who come in for CFR treatment includes breathing disorders, sinusitis, snoring, sleep apnea, deviated septums, migraine headaches, vertigo, facial pain (Trigeminal Neuralgia), facial paralysis (Bell’s Palsy), TMJ disorder, Post-Concussion Syndrome, seizures, neurological disorders, and more. Some of the conditions that this technique can help include, but not
limited to:

§ Breathing Disorders

§ Sleep apnea

§ Headache

§ Migraine

§ Seizures

§ Insomnia

§ TMJ Disorders

§ Whiplash

§ Nasal Congestion

§ Sinusitis

§ Chronic Fatigue

§ Concussion

The Graston/FAKTR Technique is essentially a type of therapy that uses instruments to assist in the mobilization of soft tissues of the body. It
is a very popular technique that gives patients a great deal of relief.
The Graston/FAKTR Technique works by breaking down scar tissue and fascia restrictions that are created by trauma to the soft tissues, repetitive
stress, or old injuries. This can be the result of strained muscles or pulled tendons or over use. It also reduces restrictions by elongating connective tissue. This effectively changes the structure of the tissue in order to improve function.

If you are curious about The Graston Technique, please reach out to us today. We would be happy to speak with you and discuss the many benefits of this technique.
